Being busy is great don’t you agree?
I think so.
But I also believe that being busy can also take a toll on your lives.
I know from past experiences when I was “too busy” I traveled down a dark path. The path to being “too busy” nearly destroyed my relationships with friends, family, and us. In other words, I was too focused on work and didn’t give others or myself time. Granted this led to some positive results but in hindsight it also led to more negative results. That’s why I believe it’s imperative to live a balanced life. I repeat: balance. balance, balance!!!
Many who know me very well will agree, time management has been one of my largest struggles but I’ve greatly improved on that. But enough about me this is about you. My overall point is, it’s important for you to manage the time accordingly to live a balanced life.
I’m sure you’re curious as to what might entail a balanced life. A balance “is the taking of appropriate action when circumstances dictate so as to maintain equilibrium.” In other words, knowing the appropriate time to call it quits and give your mind and body a rest. This varies from person to person and it’s up to you to decide how to live your own balanced life. There is no one size that fits all.
So if you ever catch yourself overwhelmed because you’re working so much I recommend you take that day off and spend time with family at the park, go for a run or go out to a healthy lunch with a friend or maybe leave work just an hour early (if possible) to spend time with kids or friends.
You decide the way you want to live. You shouldn’t strive to have more all the time, but rather appreciate what you have in your life. Set one definitive goal at a time, enjoy the journey, and once accomplished move on to the next one while taking time to enjoy life. A balanced life will need to positive results.
